Not by might, nor by power, but by my Spirit, saith the Lord. Zechariah 4:6B
Too often we put our trust and confidnence in things of life that impress us. Too often these things fail us. Thusly Zechariah, anointed by God to write these words, speaks this powerful truth to every believer. The Holy Spirit was not new to the Church in the Book of Acts. He had been active and moving throughout the Old Testament as well. During Zechariah's ministry, God's people needed a word of encouragement. They were transitioning from Babylonian captivity and striving to rebuild the Temple in Jerusalem. Zechariah makes it clear that if you are building a house of worship, it must be founded upon the principles of God and empowered by His Holy Spirit. Pastor John
