Joel 2:28

And it shall come to pass afterward, that I will pour out my Spirit upon all flesh and you sons and your daughters shall prophesy, your old men shall dream dreams, your young men shall see visions.  Joel 2:28

The opening phrase of this verse "And it shall come to pass afterward..." is more than just a simple introduction.  It contains two very significant words:  it and afterward.  It is the outpouring of the Holy Spirit.  Afterward distinguishes when this outpouring will take place.  Joel speaks to Israel for the Lord, telling them that repentance must be followed by putting God in the center of all that they do.  They must know Him as their God, and no one else.  You can see this in the preceding verse, Joel 2:27.  Is God in the center of all your plans and desires?  Is He the number one priority in your life?  The Holy Spirit is sensitive to our priorities.  When God is foremost, His blessing is utmost.  Pastor John
