Hear ye, children, the instructions of the father and attend to know understanding. Proverbs 4:1
In this verse Solomon speaks his wisdom to every one of us. To "attend to know understanding" is to listen up, pay attention and learn from your father's experience. This is a difficult thing for many children today because their fathers are not present. Due to the absence of fatherly examples, many children pick up or "attend to" other things. It is God's purpose for us to learn from our fathers. Dad, your influence is more important than you will ever know. Your example will affect generations to come. I thank God for righteous fathers who lead by good examples and train their children in God's ways. May God bless you and your family this day. Pastor John
