Acts 2:47b

....And the Lord added to the church daily such as should be saved.  Acts 2:47b

The initial outpouring of the Holy Spirit in Acts 2 was a powerful event.  The Spirit was not new to these disciples of Christ; they had already seen the Spirit work through Christ to do great miracles.  However, never before had so many been baptized with this power at one time.  God's kingdom power wrought much fruit as it was manifested on the Day of Pentecost.  Three-thousand were added to His Chuch as a result!  This was no one-shot deal.  Acts 2:47 makes it clear that this was just the beginning, for the Lord was adding to the Church daily.  By Acts 4:4, 5,000 more became believers.  In a short time, the Church at Jerusalem grew to at least 8,120 believers.  These are the examples God has given us to encourange the growth of His Church.  Let's be aggressive in pursuing lost souls for God's Kingdom.  Pastor John
