Acts 2:42

And they continued steadfast in the apostles' doctrine and fellowship, and in breaking of bread, and in prayers.

This verse speaks of the unity - the connection - the New Testament Church had within its ranks.  They Pentecost experience not only brought the people into ta combined anointing, but into continual connection as well.  As pastor of Harbor Life Church, my desire is that we all live with that same spirit of unity, being connected in ministry, worship, outreach and love.  In 1 Corinthians 12, the Apostle Paul brings out the truth of what we are - the body of Christ.  We are to be a body of believers connected to the power of the Holy Spirit, connected in His presence in worship, and connected to function in each unique calling God has for us.  If you've been puzzled about where you fit in - where you can get connected - you may find the place where you belong and where you can make a difference.

John 17:6

I have manifested thy name unto the men which thou gavest me out of the world:  thine they were, and thou gavest them me; and they have kept thy word.

Last week I spoke on the phrase in John 3:16, whosoever believeth in Him shall not perish.  I called this God's Whosoever Assurance Policy.  That policy assures us that God can save us however we've sinned, whenever we call on Him and wherever we've been.  Today we will get a good look at the Twelve Disciples as they share their thoughts about their journey with  Jesus.  These twelve are a good sampling of the whosovers who followed Christ.  Each man was quite different, with his own personal issues and character traits.  All but one stood true to Christ in the end.  I am thankful for the love Jesus has for all of us.  My hope is that we, too, will all be faithful to our Lord and Savior to the end.

1 peter 2:5

You, also, as living stones, are being built up a spiritual house, a holy priesthood, to offer up spiritual sacrifices acceptable to God through Jesus Christ.

I am thankful for the youth and young adults of our church.  They have become the "go-to" people to get things done.  They lead us in worship and set an example before others.  These young people are what the Apostle Peter called living stones.  These living stones are important building blocks of the church.  Let us all endeavor to be lively, living stones; otherwise, we become malnourished and die, becoming dead stones - stumbling blocks.  We must be nurtured to stay alive.  We must feed on the manna of God's Word, find refuge in our fellowship with Christ, join the club of disciples, and keep our eyes fixed on the highway to Heaven.  This will lead us to a new life, and, in time, to the city whose builder and maker is God.
