In this was manifested the love of God toward us, because that God sent his only begotten Son into the world, that we might live through him.
For love to be real it has to be manifested - that is, it has to come to life. God's love for us was manifested when Jesus was born. God's love came alive and dwelt among mankind. Throughout His life Jesus' love was manifested. His is the greatest love. He proved that when he said in John 15:13, "Greater love hath no man than this, that a man lay down his life for his friends," and then He laid down His life. That sacrifice manifested His love to all people everywhere. Your greatest gift this Christmas has already been given to you.
