The steps of a good an are ordered by the Lord: and He delighteth in his way.
God delights in our obedience to His word. His delight is recognized when we see the blessings that come in our service to Him. Let's look at the steps we can take as children of God. The obedient servant steps up to the challenge of being righteous and obedient. The negligent servant steps back and misses opportunities for blessings. The disobedient servant steps out, goes into hiding and shirks his responsibilities. We thank God for all the obedient servants here at Harbor Life Church. We recognize all of our volunteers today who have seen the needs, heard the call and stepped up to serve in the various ministries of our church. You are very much appreciated, and you are all winners!

Romans 8:31b
If God be for us, who can be against us?
After completing the READ initiative in 2013 I am convinced more than ever that God is for us. From Genesis to Revelation God proves Himself over and over again. I never doubted it before 2013, but I am even more assured now that God wants what's best for me and you. In his Book the Grip of Grace, Max Lucado states, " Today. At this hour. At this minute. As you read this sentence. No need to wait in line or come back tomorrow. He is with you. He could not be closer than He is at this second. His loyalty won't increase if you are better, nor lessen if you are worse. He is for you." Isn't it wonderful to know that the Creator of the universe will never abandon you? never question the nearness and availability of God. He is with you and He is for you. So, whatever you're going through, have faith. He is there to bring you through.

Genesis 20:50
But as for you, ye thought evil against me; but God meant it unto good, to bring to pass, as it is this day, to save much people alive.
We need the Word of God to accentuate the good in our lives. Every truth we read and then experience means God's Word is alive in us. In the New Year I hope to see everyone in our church find greater victory as we contine to emphasize scripture study and prayer. In Genesis 50:20, Joseph tells his brothers, "You thought evil against me, but God meant it for good." The Hebrew word for meant here means to weave. "You wove evil," Joseph is saying, "But God rewove it together for good." No matter what you're facing now, no matter what Satan has woven against you, God can reweave it to bless you and those around you. You will get through this, and God will get the glory. Let us see another truth from this verse: Other people's lives are affected by the blessings God gives you. Remember, we are family!

Hebrews1:1&2
God, who at sundry times and in divers manners spake in time past unto the fathers by the prophets, Hath in these last days spoken unto us by his Son, whom he hath appointed heir of all things, by who also he made the worlds.
The first e-mail was sent in 1971 by a fellow named Ray Tomlinson while he experimented with ways that people and computers could interact. He sent the message from his computer through a network to a different unit in his office. Now, decades later, more than a billion e-mails are sent every day. Many contain important news from coworkers, family or friends, but many others contain unwanted advertising or even destructive viruses. There's a basic rule governing e-mail use. Don't open it unless you trust the sender. God sent us a message through His Son a - a message of love and hope. We can trust that sender. Let us continue to read God's message from His Word this year. Find a special daily devotion source that brings the message of Jesus Christ to you in a way that speaks to you. Be faithful to read and take His Word to heart.
