If I then, your Lord and Master, have washed your feet; ye also ought to wash one another's feet. For I have given you an example, that ye should do as I have done for you.
The best way for us to be one as the body of Christ is for us to be like Him. One of the titles for Jesus is Servant King because He came to serve mankind. Jesus, of course, has many other titles. He is the way, the truth, the life, light bread, hope Master of all things. The list could go on eternally. However, Jesus did not come to boast in titles; He came bearing a towel. The towel shows us His humility and willingness to serve us. As we, together, are one, we become a servant army reaching the needy, hurting people the way that Jesus did. With this truth in mind, let us rekindle the fire of God's Spirit in our hearts, put aside the desire for titles, and take up the towel with the purpose to serve our Lord who has no problem serving us. Let us be one in harmony, service and worship to our God.
