And he that sent me is with me: the Father hath not left me alone; for I do always those things that please him.
Here Jesus speaks to the Pharisees who have questioned Him about exactly who He is. Earlier in the verse 19 He had told them, "You know neither me nor My Father. If you had know Me, you would have known My Father also." These religious leaders had no real relationship with God the Father. Jesus was telling them that our knowledge of Him is knowledge of God. When we honor our Lord Jesus Christ, we honor God the Heavenly Father. The reverse is also true: when we honor the Father, we honor the son. The old saying "like father, like son," is especially true when we speak of God the Father and Jesus. As we honor our fathers today, let us honor our God who set the example by which all fathers should live. God bless you, and have a great Father's Day!
