Then remembered I the word of the Lord, how that he said, John indeed baptized with water; but ye shall be baptized with the Holy Ghost.
These are the words of Peter as he addresses the Gentiles who gathered at Cornelius' house. They had come to see Peter and receive whatever God had for them. At this point, Peter is led by God to take on a huge task - ministry to the Gentiles. Peter knows this is going to be quite a challenge, but God is going to work all of it out in a most timely fashion. In verse 16 Peter says, Then I remembered the word of the Lord. Peter had been wondering what he would say to these people, then the Holy Spirit reminded him what Jesus had said in Acts 1:5. Already, the apostles were ministering powerfully by way of the Holy Spirit's guidance. This was the fulfillment of John 14:26. when Jesus said, The Holy Ghost....shall teach you all things, and bring all things to your remembrance, whatsoever I have spoken unto you. This is why we need the Holy Spirit today. There is much to remember to be effective in the harvest of these last days.
