Matthew 24:14

And this Gospel of the kingdom shall be preached in all the world for a witness unto all nations:  And then shal the end come.

In this verse Jesus speaks of events that will precede the end times.  The preaching of the Gospel to every nation will somehow be fulfilled before He comes back to gather His Bride.  Today we honor all missionaries who take on that challenge and sacrifice to go to the uttermost parts of the world as well as here at home.  We are especially thankful for the ministries present with us in our service today.  They are making a difference in this world.  Let us be faithful to support them with our offerings and prayers.  Ask God what He would have to give or do to help these wonderful ministries reach the world for Christ.  Pastor John

Philippians 2:2

Fulfil ye my joy, that ye be likeminded, having the same love, being of one accord, of one mind.

The apostle Paul longed for the church at Philippi to be in harmony and unity.  As the previous verse mentions, this would bring consolation, comfort, love, fellowship and mercies.  Paul said it would fulfill his joy.  We learn from Acts 2 that prayer in unity reaps a great benefit for the church.  In Psalm 133 we are told that where God's people dwell in unity, God commands His blessings.  Let us be diligent in our prayers for the upcoming September revival.  This diligence, coupled with unity, will bring a great harvest for our church and God's kingdom.  Pastor John

Job 19:25

For I know that my redeemer liveth, and that He shall stand at the latter day upon the earth.

Job is at his all-time low when he says these words; yet, nothing can sway his faith as to who God is and what he can do.  Job is like a rock and will not waver in his faith.  "I know that my redeemer liveth" is a testimony of God's love even though Job seems far from it at the moment.  He continues to be unshakeable.  Job will be rewarded after this terrible season of testing, and he'll rise above the grief, pain, torment and loss.  I wonder if I can be as faithful as Job.  Can You?  We really can't know the answer until we experience similar trials.  One thing I do know, however, is that my Redeemer - Jesus Christ -- is alive, and as Job stated, He still stands in this latter day!  Pastor John
